SESSION 11 — The Sun Ascends

SESSION 11 — The Sun Ascends

Date: May 24, 2057   Primary Location: Silo Complex Perimeter & Interior

Session Overview

Session Eleven does not begin with violence. It begins with recognition.

The party approaches the silo expecting resistance. What they encounter first is something more unsettling—confidence. The forces occupying the site do not hide, do not scatter, and do not react like a group under threat. They engage.

What follows is a brief but telling exchange that makes one thing clear:

The people inside the silo already believe they are winning.

Then they detonate the party’s vehicle with them inside it.

From that moment forward, the session becomes a full engagement—fast, chaotic, and decisive. But the tone of the battle is set before it begins. This is not desperation.

This is declaration.

And in the middle of that declaration, something answers back.

The Story So Far

The party has traced a black-market artifact pipeline to an active silo complex. With relics accumulating and hostile networks forming, they move to confront the operation directly before it can expand further.

Major Events & Key Moments

1. Opening — Contact at the Silo

The party approaches the silo cautiously but openly enough to be noticed.

They are not intercepted immediately with gunfire.

They are addressed.

Figures emerge or make themselves known, and what follows is not negotiation in the traditional sense—but it is communication. The enemy acknowledges them, sizes them up, and makes it clear through tone and posture that they are neither surprised nor intimidated.

The exchange carries weight.

There is no panic. No scrambling for advantage.

Instead, there is a kind of ideological certainty. The suggestion—spoken or implied—is that the world has already shifted, and that those inside the silo are simply further along that curve.

The party is not treated as intruders. They are treated as competitors.

2. The Ambush — Fire Without Warning

Whatever thin layer of conversation exists ends abruptly.

There is no drawn-out escalation.

No final warning.

The party’s vehicle is targeted and detonated with them inside it.

The explosion is immediate and violent, turning the approach into chaos. Fire, debris, and shockwave consume the moment, forcing the party to react instantly rather than prepare.

This is the enemy’s opening move. Not defensive. Offensive. Decisive.

They are not testing the party. They are trying to eliminate them.

3. Ideology Revealed — The New World Order

The party survives.

Barely intact but fully active, they emerge from the wreckage into an already mobilized battlefield. Gunfire follows the explosion, and powered individuals begin engaging immediately.

Through both prior psychic probing and this exchange, the party gains clarity:

  • These factions believe nuclear power is obsolete
  • Magical artifacts are now:
    • Currency
    • Weapons
    • Infrastructure

“They are getting their nuclear weapons… their economy… their future.”

The silo is not just storage. It is a bank vault for the new world

Asa confirms:

  • Awareness of Kareem’s defeat
  • Awareness of the party’s actions
  • Awareness of their influence and wealth

And most importantly— He is not afraid

There is no reset. No regroup. The fight begins in motion.

Yusuf absorbs the initial momentum, anchoring himself against both physical and concussive force. Tariq takes to the sky, already shifting from reaction to control. David teleports Yusuf to the top of a 40ft gasometer silo. Shortly after healing David, Rana’s throat and shoulder is grazed by a sniper round, injuring her. The enemy presses hard, attempting to capitalize on the chaos they created.

4. The Silo Ignites

The conflict expands rapidly inside and around the silo.

Hostile operatives coordinate with efficiency, using both conventional weapons and powers as integrated tools. The environment—industrial, confined, and layered—turns every movement into a tactical decision.

Powered enemies are engaged directly:

  • Close-range disruptors and ranged attackers working in tandem
  • Individuals using abilities with practiced confidence, not hesitation
  • Coordinated positioning suggesting prior combat experience

This is not a scattered resistance. This is a functioning combat unit.

The battlefield is already active:

  • Drones continue surveillance
  • Energy barriers pulse across the approach
  • Soldiers mobilize inside the facility

5. The Turning Point — A Prayer Answered

At the height of the conflict, with pressure mounting and the battlefield fully engaged, Tariq does something unexpected.

He prays. He calls to Ra for the sun to provide him cover from his enemies.

The response does not come to him. It comes through Rana.

She feels it immediately—not as power, but as alignment. As recognition. Her perception sharpens beyond thought. Truth becomes immediate. Intention becomes visible. Balance becomes absolute.

And within that moment—She is given knowledge. Not learned. Not inferred.

Confirmed.  Tariq is not the Master.

The doubt that has fractured the group—fed by memory manipulation, influence, and fear—breaks instantly under that clarity. The question that has lingered since the storm is answered without ambiguity. Not by logic. By truth.

Rana’s transformation follows immediately, but it is no longer just about power.

Light becomes authority. Judgment becomes function.

Rana Al-Masri becomes the Arbiter of Ra—a Priestess of Judgment. As she accepts her faith she radiates with the power of the sun, a holy woman obvious to all. Her wounds regenerate and the newly faithful Tariq’s prayer is answered. He is completely hidden by the sun while his shadow is cast in a pillar, revealing The Sniper’s position.

And with that— The foundation of mistrust inside the group collapses.

6. Collapse — The Fight Breaks

From that moment, the momentum shifts.

Enemy coordination falters as Rana appears in at the entrance, confidence fractures among soldiers who express their own shame for attacking a holy woman. What began as a controlled ambush begins to unravel under sustained pressure and the overwhelming shift in presence. Still Bazooka Joachim and The Blade attempt to strike The Arbiter down, their failure further breaking morale.

The party capitalizes without hesitation. Targets are isolated. Key threats are neutralized. Remaining combatants either fall or attempt retreat. The Grenade attempts to use the secrets of the old natural gas facilities sub level against a pursuing Yusuf, only to learn that the Sentinel is always prepared.

The silo cannot hold.

7. Aftermath — The Truth of the Silo

When the fighting ends, the structure of the operation is clear.

This was not just a fortified position. It was a distribution hub.

Artifacts, personnel, and ideology moving through a central node designed to expand outward. The presence of multiple factions confirms coordination beyond a single group.

The party has not just survived an ambush. They have dismantled a system.

David exerts authority beyond the battlefield by calling The Egyptian President’s chief of staff, reporting the capture of the powered terrorists. Within an hour, Egyptian special forces arrive, a half dozen of which are in exo-battle suits. The Battlesuit Unit commander confirmed the identity of The Grenade and executed the terrorist on the spot.

The Pharaohnic States of Egypt are very pleased that David called and even more pleased to find this operation shut down and powered individuals captured and turned over to the state. They are unaware of everything the terrorists have here and the party is able to use this time to discover what relics are hidden at the Silo.

Character Spotlights

Rana Al-Masri
Transforms from observer of truth into its embodiment, becoming
The Arbiter of Ra—a Priestess of Judgment through a divine response triggered by Tariq’s prayer.

Tariq Mansour
Acts as an unexpected catalyst, demonstrating that influence now extends beyond control and into belief—and consequence. Doubt replaced by faith.

David Hassan
Executes with precision, the Arcane Blade now fully stabilized and integrated into his combat style.

Yusuf Khalid
Absorbs the opening ambush and maintains the line, allowing the group to transition from survival to dominance. Captures the escaping power, The Grenade, simply by having a gas mask.

GM Notes & World Narrative

The pre-combat exchange establishes a critical tone:

These factions do not see themselves as criminals. They see themselves as the next structure of power. The ambush confirms they are willing to act on that belief immediately.

Rana’s ascension confirms that ancient forces are not passive observers. They respond.
