Layla Karim Remembers

 

THURSDAY APRIL 12, 2057  The Alexandrian Storm Begins

Layla Karim is aboard the ill-fated .Thoth-linked flight crossing Sinai. Everyone aboard is exposed to the eye of the storm and Layla is transformed. She is separated from known survivors during the aftermath,  experiencing fragmented fugue states and symbolic visions. Layla soon finds herself controlled by the master and drawn toward ancient and ritualistically significant locations.

FRIDAY APRIL 13, 2057

Layla wanders portions of archeological sites in Egypt under the control of something she does not yet understand, she has long dreamed of studying the surrounding historical districts, unfortunately for her, her wanderings are in a dissociative state. The information she gleans is for someone or something else. She appears at multiple locations without clear memory of travel. Layla experiences recurring visions involving: mirrors, tomb corridors, reflected figures, and unknown voices.  She believes she may have unconsciously guided unknown actors toward sites

SATURDAY APRIL 14, 2057

A kaleidoscope of memories…

Layla arrives near the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut under unclear circumstances and certainly not alone. She somehow demonstrates instinctive awareness of hidden passageways and symbolic markers. During periods of dissociation Layla has memories of experiencing uncontrolled short-range teleportation events all while influenced by something she calls The Master.  

SUNDAY and Monday APRIL 15-16, 2057

When the influence of the Master leaves her, he collapses near Alexandria following prolonged exposure, dehydration, and psychological strain, her consciousness begins to stabilize. She experiences fragmented awareness of being observed or “used, her previous days retaining only dreamlike memories of prior days.

Early on Monday April 16^th she is recovered alive by Egyptian Civil Defense and transported to the Alexandria Research Institute. Initially she is classified as psychologically unstable but physically viable. Layla displays intermittent spatial irregularities around mirrors and reflective surfaces.

Tuesday April 17– Thursday April 19, 2057

Recovery at the Alexandria Research Institute where she is held for observation and recovery. Layla Suffers from blackouts, memory fragmentation, recurring visions, involuntary teleportation incidents. She accidentally manifests powers during a panic episode and claims to hear so many voices.

Doctors classify her internally asa potential high-value altered asset. She grows increasingly distrustful of institutional oversight.

FRIDAY APRIL 20, 2057

Layla escapes and disappears from Alexandria Research Institute following a violent spatial distortion event. Several security cameras fail simultaneously during the incident and she begins life on the run.

Saturday April 21– Monday April 30, 2057 The Hunted Phase

Layla Karim moves between abandoned apartments, refugee corridors, historical districts, and safehouses provided by former colleagues.  She avoids Egyptian authorities, private contractors,  criminal asset brokers, and unknown operatives. As she realizes that multiple factions are pursuing her, Layla’s powers continue to evolve unpredictably.

EARLY MAY 2057

Layla encounters several vulnerable altered individuals being trafficked or sold between emerging black-market groups. These experiences cause her to develop deep distrust toward governments, corporations, and opportunists exploiting the Storm. She begins embracing survival through independence rather than protection.

MID MAY 2057

Layla Karim discovers Sofia Reyes has been working with individuals connected to asset trafficking operations. She narrowly escapes a planned betrayal and capture attempt by entities identified as Fire & Water. This gives her a clearer understanding of the rapidly growing black market surrounding Storm-touched individuals. It is during this time that she begins consciously using her powers tactically for survival.

LATE MAY 2057

Layla Karim tracks growing global changes connected to Rana Al-Masri, .Thoth, UN restructuring, and Storm migration and concludes survival without institutional protection is impossible long-term. Decides to reclaim her place, her wealth and her stake in the future being built around her.

SUNDAY MAY 27, 2057

Reunion! Layla Reunites with the party, arrives changed by nearly six weeks of isolation, pursuit, manipulation, and survival. She is here to claim her position and right to participate in the future that is being constructed around the Storm.
