Session Overview
Session Twenty-Nine begins only hours after Rana Al-Masri
completes her interview with Jade Dubois.
Rather than waiting for the interview to air, the party
turns immediately toward Abydos. Michael’s research has linked the ancient city
to Nigerian artifacts, the Abydos King List, Osiris, royal bloodlines, and the
forces surrounding Yusuf. The site appears to offer answers capable of
connecting several of the campaign’s longest-running mysteries.
The expedition begins at High House with preparation rather
than travel.
David distributes five unidentified artifacts recovered from
the Silo, believing that prolonged exposure to the party’s growing magical
collection has caused them to begin awakening. Each hero carries one into
Abydos. Michael receives an ebony starburst charm associated with time. Yusuf
takes an amber scorpion amulet. Rana receives a pewter anklet. Tariq carries a
cracked brass belt. David keeps a glowing crystal sphere recognized by the
Arcane Blade.
The party then performs a shared ritual around the Staff of
Ra. Michael prepares the staff for future use upon Yusuf, while Tariq uses the
ceremony to project his vision hundreds of miles south.
What the party sees transforms the expedition.
Abydos is no longer a quiet archaeological site.
At least six factions are fighting around the Temple of
Osiris. The Saudi dragon-men and likely Russian operatives are among them.
Powered artifact hunters occupy the ruins. Ley lines glow beneath the
battlefield. A Pharaonic States military survey team maintains a blackout from
the mountains. At the center of the conflict, a massive amorphous guardian
disables combatants who attempt to approach the temple.
The heroes choose not to teleport directly into the
fighting. They contact the government survey team first and learn that people
have been drawn to Abydos since early June. Many entered the temple and never
returned. Organized raiding began later, overwhelming defenses that had
previously repelled individual intruders.
The survey team also reveals something more personal.
Inside the Temple of Osiris is an ancient image of Ra beside
a white-haired priestess who resembles Rana.
Modern worshippers of Ra have already begun appearing among
the survey personnel, despite the fact that Rana’s interview has not yet aired.
She pauses the expedition long enough to teach them what Ra’s message actually
demands: acknowledgment of sin, resistance to corruption, and the obligation to
remain in the light.
The party then enters the temple.
They pass magical effects designed to destroy their sense of
direction. Black bird-like guardians escort them through the halls. The temple
responds to their presence without attacking them.
Michael feels something calling from beyond the Void Room.
The Void is a three-foot sphere that consumes equipment,
drains power, distorts distance, and speaks through hostile planar voices.
Michael and David cross the room together. They resist its mental pull,
preserve their powers, and reach a sealed chamber containing tribute offered by
foreign peoples who sought burial and protection at Abydos.
Michael awakens the Chrono Charm and uses it to buy enough
time for David to open the chamber without breaking its seal.
Inside, an unidentified soapstone tablet rises to meet him.
The tablet confirms that Michael’s family was an ancient
royal lineage. His ancestors traded with Egypt, petitioned for burial at
Abydos, and secured protection for their souls in the afterlife.
The Nigerian Prince began as a disguise.
At Abydos, Michael learns it was also the truth.
The Story So Far
Session Twenty-Eight ended with the world preparing to hear
Rana Al-Masri speak publicly about Ra, compassion, corruption, and the meaning
of power after the Storm.
The interview was completed without attack or interruption.
Rana spoke as herself rather than as a distant religious symbol. She explained
that Ra did not come to replace what was good in existing faiths and warned
that his name must never be used to justify hatred or domination.
At the same time, Michael’s artificial intelligence
platform, nAIomi, became fully operational. It found the Resurrected Five in a
photograph taken near Abydos, detected three unattributed stealth satellites,
located Aleister Crowley in London, and began exposing global crises faster
than the party could answer them.
Abydos emerged as the next priority.
The ancient city connects Osiris, resurrection, Yusuf’s
bloodline, the Egyptian royal lists, Tariq’s ancestry, and a missing Nigerian
relic believed to represent contact between West Africa and the Nile.
The party expected history.
They arrive to find a war.

1. The Relics from the Silo
Before leaving High House, David gathers the party around a
collection of objects that have remained undefined since the early artifact
recoveries.
The items came from the Silo and related caches. They were
stored near stronger magical objects, exposed to rituals, ley-line energy, and
the party’s expanding collection. David believes that exposure has changed
them.
They are no longer inert curiosities. They are waiting.
David keeps a perfect crystal sphere that glows faintly
white and draws recognition from the Arcane Blade. He gives Michael an ebony

hangs above the circle while the party’s powers collect around it.

nearly eight hundred kilometers from High House.
Because the party remains connected through the ritual,
everyone sees what Tariq sees.
The visible temple complex stands within an enormous field
of buried history. Raised ground continues toward the mountains. Modern roads
and power lines cross land that almost certainly contains additional
structures.
The scale explains why so much remains undiscovered.
Archaeologists do not lack imagination.
They lack the ability to remove miles of earth without
destroying whatever survives beneath it.
The Alexandrian Storm has arrived at a city still waiting to
be excavated.
Unfortunately, several other groups arrived first.
4. The War at Abydos
Power erupts around the Temple of Osiris.
At least six factions fight across the ruins. Some draw visible energy from ley lines. Others impose geometric structures upon the lines themselves. Magical blasts cross the open ground while artifact bearers gather near the temple.
The Saudi dragon-men are present.
A speedster and associated combatants suggest Russian
involvement.
Other individuals remain close to the temple without joining
the battle. Many carry magical objects they have likely removed from the site.
A Pharaonic States force waits near the mountains with
vehicles, heavy equipment, and mobile weapons. They do not behave like a combat
unit. Their position resembles an engineering or archaeological operation that
has been trapped beside a supernatural war.
The temple glows. A government blackout surrounds the
region.
The heroes had planned an expedition.
They are now observing an international artifact rush taking
place inside one of humanity’s most important religious sites.
5. The Guardian Without a Mind
The most destructive presence on the battlefield is not one
of the organized factions.
It is a towering amorphous creature that shifts between a
blob and crude humanoid shapes. It forms hammer-like limbs, appears directly
around opponents, and hurls them across the battlefield.
No attack appears to injure it.
During the party’s reconnaissance, the creature envelops two
members of a group hiding behind the temple pillars. Tariq reaches toward its
mind and discovers that the Blob has no consciousness he can contact.
The minds he finds belong to the people trapped inside it.
One cannot breathe. The other is fading toward
unconsciousness.
David identifies the creature as a transformed gelatinous
cube, enhanced by the Storm, the temple, or both. Disintegration could destroy
pieces of it, but any surviving fragment would eventually regrow.
The party had wondered whether the Blob was a looter,
monster, or attacker.
The answer is more complicated. It may be a temple guardian
performing its duty with an enthusiasm that leaves very little room for
appeals.
6. The Pharaonic States Hold the Line
Rather than teleporting directly into the conflict, the
Alexandrian Storm chooses restraint.
Michael carries the group insubstantial to the Pharaonic
States survey camp outside Abydos. Tariq announces their arrival openly,
refusing to approach as unseen intruders. The greeting surprises the exhausted
personnel more than the heroes themselves.
The camp is not commanded by soldiers preparing for battle.
Instead, it is staffed by archaeologists, survey engineers, military
specialists, and support personnel who have become accidental custodians of one
of history's greatest supernatural awakenings.
The lead survey archaeologist explains that strange events
began in early June. Individuals from across the world simply started arriving
at Abydos. Many entered the Temple of Osiris and never returned. The Pharaonic
States initially believed they faced a conventional archaeological emergency
and deployed mapping teams equipped with drones, sonic scanners, air-quality
monitors, and excavation equipment.
As more artifact seekers appeared, the situation
deteriorated rapidly.
Three survey teams established an information blackout using
the surrounding mountains and specialized equipment. Their purpose was not
secrecy for its own sake, but containment. The world was not prepared to
understand what had awakened beneath Abydos.
Only twelve hours before the Alexandrian Storm's arrival had

familiar figure.

features unmistakably resemble Rana Al-Masri.

reincarnation or destiny. The surveyors simply acknowledge that the image
exists, and Rana recognizes it immediately.
The discovery carries profound emotional weight.
For months, Rana has struggled to understand her
relationship with Ra, her miraculous gifts, and the role she occupies within
the modern world. Here, inside one of Egypt's oldest sacred sites, she finds
evidence that someone resembling her stood beside the Sun God thousands of
years ago.
Whether ancestor, predecessor, symbolic representation, or
something stranger, the transcript does not answer. It simply records that the
image exists.

9. Into the Temple of Osiris
Armed with the survey team's maps, the Alexandrian Storm

strong wills, the party resists the effect before it fully takes hold. The
battlefield outside has quieted.
The dragon-men and likely Russian operatives have
temporarily ceased fighting, negotiating instead over possession of a powerful
magical mirror while the immense Blob guardian waits nearby.
The six artifact hunters observed during Tariq's
reconnaissance have vanished. Only two abandoned bags of magical objects
remain.
Before anyone can secure them, an unidentified speedster
races through the temple and removes both bags in seconds.
The Alexandrian Storm lets the opportunity pass. Their
mission has already changed.

10. The Void
The black bird-like guardians silently escort the party
deeper into the temple before disappearing.
Michael alone feels something drawing him toward the Void
Chamber.

sphere capable of consuming matter without warning.

dangerous. It is aware.
Michael and David enter together while Tariq, Rana, Yusuf,
Deuce, and Twa remain outside.

itself.

whose members traded with Egypt, earned recognition among foreign kings, and
secured places within Abydos itself.
The theory Omatola Adewale proposed is confirmed. Michael's
ancestry is real.
His connection to Abydos is real. The temple had been
waiting for him. The tablet recognizes its rightful heir. Michael advances to Power
Level 11, though its greater reward is not power.
It is belonging.
12. A Door Closed Again
Neither Michael nor David attempts to empty the treasury.
The heroes take only the artifact that clearly called to its
rightful owner.
The great doors are carefully resealed behind them. Outside
the chamber, the guardians continue their work.
An artifact hunter approaching the Void is intercepted by
the electrical guardian and the invisible aerial predator before the party
chooses to intervene. The guardians incapacitate the intruder without
